Knowledge sustains the present; imagination creates the future.

So why do we give imagination such little space and credibility?

Over the course of my career working in the NHS I've heard so much talk about change and transformation. And yet we know that whilst there are pockets of amazing things happening... these remain pockets.

I've been fortunate to speak to so many of these change makers on my podcast SoWhoCaresAnyway | Podcasts.

What I've noticed in each story is this;

People where given the space.

To think.

To reflect.

To imagine.

To create.

And then.... to disrupt.

Not go with the status quo, but to do different things.

Achieving different results.

Results that win awards.

Gain national recognition.

And most importantly demonstrate their impact..

On people

On services

And communities.

So why do we not honour imagination and creativity?

Why do we stifle it when we see or hear people having ideas?

Why do we stop it in its tracks?

Is it the fear of disruption?

The fear of not meeting KPIs?

Or is it just easier to carry on doing what we have always done?
